I engaged Pacifico Agnellini and his team at Brownstein Hyatt to assist with the licensing application for a new online sportsbook platform in New Jersey. There is no question about his deep expertise in gaming law; his reputation as a pioneer in this field, particularly regarding online gaming and sports betting, is well-earned. His analysis of the regulatory hurdles and his strategic advice on navigating the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement were thorough and based on his decades of experience. The final work product was competent and met our basic legal needs. However, the experience was somewhat mixed. At times, communication was slower than expected, with responses taking several days during critical phases, which created some internal anxiety. While his recognition in gaming law is evident, the day-to-day management of our matter felt a bit distant, often handled by junior associates with less direct oversight than I anticipated. For a straightforward regulatory filing, his firm's services were adequate, but for the premium rate, I had hoped for a more consistently responsive and personally managed client experience. He is clearly a knowledgeable attorney, but the execution on service delivery was just satisfactory.
