Competent in mediation, but communication could be clearer

I engaged Alyssa Bartholomew to assist with a post-divorce modification concerning our parenting plan. Her background in Family Law and her specific recognition in arbitration and mediation were the primary reasons I chose her firm. In the mediation sessions themselves, she was professional and her knowledge of the legal framework was evident, helping us reach a workable agreement without returning to court. However, my experience outside of those sessions was mixed. There were several instances where responses to emails took longer than I expected, leaving me uncertain about next steps. While the legal outcome was satisfactory, I sometimes felt I had to be more proactive in seeking updates than I anticipated. For straightforward mediation where her recognized expertise can guide the process, she is a solid choice, but managing client expectations on communication could be improved.
