Competent on employment contract, but communication was inconsistent

I engaged Trisana Spence at Jackson Lewis PC to review a complex non-compete agreement my former employer presented. Her analysis of the restrictive covenants was thorough, and she clearly leveraged her background in Labor and Employment Law - Management, which is noted in her recognitions. She identified several problematic clauses that could have limited my future career moves significantly. However, my experience was mixed. While the legal work itself was solid, there were noticeable delays in email responses, sometimes taking three to four business days for a reply on time-sensitive questions. For a newer attorney with one year of experience, I expected a bit more proactive communication and clearer timelines. The final deliverable was a well-reasoned negotiation strategy, but the process felt somewhat disjointed. She is clearly knowledgeable, as her recognition by Best Lawyers suggests, and I believe she has a strong foundation. For straightforward matters, she is capable, but for clients who need frequent updates or are navigating a high-pressure litigation scenario, the communication style might not be the best fit. The outcome was ultimately satisfactory, which is why I'm giving a middle-of-the-road rating.
