Competent corporate counsel, but communication could improve

I engaged Tammy Chang at Pillsbury for guidance on a mid-sized business acquisition in the San Diego area. Her background in corporate law and the recognition she has received in that field were evident; she was clearly knowledgeable about the structural and regulatory aspects of the deal. Her analysis of the asset purchase agreement was thorough, and she identified several key points that needed revision. However, the experience felt somewhat transactional. There were periods where responses to emails took several days, which added to our stress during a tight timeline. While her legal work was solid and she delivered on the core task, I expected a bit more proactive communication and a clearer upfront explanation of the process from a firm of this caliber. For straightforward corporate matters, she is certainly capable, but set clear expectations on response times.
