Bio

Samantha Hoffman serves as firm managing principal and is also a member of the board of directors. A long-trusted advisor to her clients and the firm, Samantha believes in mentoring and supporting junior lawyers to grow into leadership positions and continue helping Jackson Lewis be a leader among law firms breaking the “glass ceiling.”Samantha has worn many administrative hats at the firm, including office managing principal of the Orange County office, where she was responsible for quadrupling the attorney headcount over an 8-year period of growth with the addition of lawyers who understand the particular issues facing clients in Southern California. She has simultaneously played a key role in expanding the geographic footprint of the firm, along with a dedicated focus on recruiting and firm innovation. As a member of the Peer Review committee, she worked to further the firm’s deeply held culture of teamwork and collaboration and understands that fostering relationships among Jackson Lewis lawyers translates to more effective partnership with clients.Samantha brings that collaborative approach to partnering with her clients, both when providing proactive advice and counsel and when developing litigation strategy. Given the unpredictable nature of litigation, a critical part of that partnership is helping align her clients’ litigation strategy to their business goals and objectives. On behalf of employers and management, she has litigated both California-specific and nationwide single and multi-plaintiff cases, as well as class actions in state and federal courts, in arbitration hearings, and before state administrative agencies on all types of workplace law issues, including wage and hour, harassment, discrimination, disabilities cases, trade secrets, and ERISA. Additionally, she has first-chaired trials and arbitrations.Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, Samantha practiced international tax at a Big Four Accounting firm focusing on U.S. and international tax planning for multinational corporations. While attending law school, she was a member of Loyola Law Review. She also interned at the Western Law Center for Disability Rights focusing on disabilities rights law.
