Competent and knowledgeable, but communication could improve

I hired Ryan McPhie of Grand Canyon Law Group to handle a misdemeanor DUI charge I received in Mesa. With his 14 years of experience and recognition in criminal defense, I felt confident in his legal strategy. He clearly knows the local court system well, having practiced here since graduating from ASU's law school. The outcome of my case was ultimately favorable, which I attribute to his expertise. However, my experience was mixed. While his legal knowledge is solid, I sometimes found communication to be lacking. There were periods of several days where I wouldn't receive updates on my case status, and I had to follow up multiple times. Wait times for returned calls or emails were occasionally longer than expected. He is a capable attorney who achieved the primary goal, but managing client expectations and maintaining consistent contact are areas where the service felt just adequate.
