Competent and knowledgeable, but communication could improve

I hired Robert Glassman at Panish Shea Ravipudi to handle a product liability case involving a defective household appliance that caused significant property damage. His expertise in this area was immediately apparent. He clearly understood the complexities of product liability law and his background, including his recognition by Best Lawyers, gave me confidence in his technical ability. The firm's resources were also a plus. Ultimately, we reached a settlement that addressed the financial losses. However, the experience was not without its frustrations. While Robert was thorough in our initial and final meetings, there were long stretches during the 18-month process where updates were sparse. I often had to follow up multiple times via his assistant for basic status checks, and responses sometimes took a week or more. For a client navigating a stressful situation, this lack of consistent communication added unnecessary anxiety. My expectations on the legal outcome were met, but my expectations for client communication and proactive updates were only adequately fulfilled. He is a skilled attorney who knows his craft, but the client service aspect felt more transactional than supportive.
