Mr. Davidson has a broad commercial, transactional practice with an emphasis on the negotiation, structuring and documentation of secured and unsecured financial transactions for major lending institutions and corporate borrowers.His experience includes asset based lending, syndicated loan transactions, crossborder financing, leveraged acquisitions, loan portfolio acquisitions and financing, problem loan workouts and restructuring, debtor-in-possession financings, liquidations and foreclosures. A solid, experienced attorney for banking matters

I engaged Robert Davidson and his team at Buchalter to assist with a complex loan restructuring for my small business. His deep expertise in banking and finance law, backed by his 40 years of experience and recognition in Best Lawyers in America, was immediately apparent. He clearly understood the regulatory landscape and the bank's perspective, which was invaluable. However, my experience was mixed. While the legal strategy was sound and he leveraged his background from the firm's Bank and Finance Practice Group effectively, the day-to-day communication was often handled by junior associates. Getting direct updates from Mr. Davidson himself sometimes involved longer wait times than I expected. For the premium rate, I had hoped for more consistent, senior-level accessibility throughout the process. The outcome was ultimately successful, and his knowledge of financial services regulation was a definite asset. He is undoubtedly competent, but the client service experience felt more transactional than personalized, which is why I'm giving a solid, middle-of-the-road rating.
