Competent handling of a contract dispute, but communication was inconsistent

I engaged Rob McCarthy at Miller Barondess to assist with a breach of contract issue for my small business. His background in commercial litigation, including the recognition from Best Lawyers, was a primary factor in my decision. Rob demonstrated a solid understanding of the legal principles involved and provided a clear analysis of our position. The work product on the initial demand letter and subsequent filings was thorough and well-reasoned. However, the experience was somewhat mixed. While his legal acumen was evident, there were noticeable delays in receiving responses to emails, sometimes stretching several business days, which added to my stress during the negotiation phase. I also found that some of the strategic explanations, while legally sound, could have been framed with more practical business context upfront. For a straightforward commercial matter, Rob is certainly capable, but the administrative follow-through and proactive communication didn't fully match the level of his recognized expertise in the field.
