I engaged Raphaella Ricciardi at Skadden to assist with the due diligence and structuring for a mid-sized cross-border acquisition involving our US entity and a UK-based target. Her technical competence in corporate law was evident, and her firm's resources are, of course, top-tier. It was reassuring to know she has been recognized by Best Lawyers in Corporate Law. The substantive work on the transaction documents was thorough. However, for a matter of this importance, I found the communication to be somewhat inconsistent. There were periods where responses were prompt, and others where follow-ups took longer than expected, which created some anxiety during tight negotiation phases. While the final outcome was satisfactory and her legal analysis was sound, the client service experience felt more transactional than collaborative. For straightforward corporate legal needs, she is certainly capable, but managing client expectations on responsiveness could be improved.
