My family retained Randi McGinn after my father suffered a severe injury from a defective medical device. We were drawn to her formidable reputation, her recognition as a 'Lawyer of the Year,' and her unparalleled 45-year career trying over 130 jury trials. Her deep knowledge of product liability and medical malpractice law was immediately evident; she dissected the manufacturer's case with a precision that only comes from decades of experience. We felt confident we had a true 'David vs. Goliath' champion. However, the experience was not without its frustrations. While her strategic mind is sharp, direct communication with her was infrequent. We often dealt with her capable team, which is understandable given her stature, but it sometimes felt we were at a distance from the principal strategist. Updates were thorough but could be delayed, requiring follow-up on our part. The legal work itself was competent and her courtroom reputation is clearly earned, but managing client expectations and accessibility could be improved. For a case of high complexity, her expertise is undeniable, but be prepared for a process that demands patience with the logistical side of the attorney-client relationship.
