Competent appellate work, but communication could improve

I hired Michael Von Loewenfeldt and his team at Complex Appellate Litigation Group to handle an appeal of a significant business contract dispute. His knowledge of appellate procedure was evident, and his brief was well-constructed, leveraging the recognition he's received in that specific practice area. The outcome was ultimately acceptable. However, for a matter of this importance, I expected more proactive communication. There were periods of several weeks where updates were sparse unless I initiated contact, which added unnecessary stress. While his legal analysis is solid, the client service experience felt more transactional than collaborative. He is clearly a skilled appellate attorney, but managing client expectations and responsiveness are areas where the practice could be strengthened to match the quality of the legal work.
