Adequate corporate counsel for a straightforward acquisition

Mark Skaist handled the acquisition of our small tech company. His 30+ years of experience in M&A and corporate law were evident in the solid legal framework he built. We appreciated his recognition in Best Lawyers, which gave us initial confidence. However, the process felt somewhat transactional. Communication was not as proactive as we'd hoped, with responses sometimes taking a few days during critical phases. While the outcome was legally sound, we expected more strategic guidance from a lawyer of his caliber. For a complex deal, his expertise is undeniable, but for our mid-market transaction, the service felt competent yet somewhat detached.
