Competent on employment issue, but communication was inconsistent

I retained M. Elysia Baker Analo at Constangy Brooks to advise on a complex non-compete agreement my former employer was attempting to enforce. Ms. Analo's background in Labor and Employment Law - Management was evident; her analysis of the agreement's enforceability under Illinois law was thorough and she clearly understood the strategic landscape from the management side, which was beneficial for my situation. Her recognition by Best Lawyers in this specific field gave me confidence in her technical expertise. Ultimately, the matter was resolved favorably. However, my experience was mixed. While the legal work itself was solid, there were periods where responses to emails took several days, and I sometimes felt I had to follow up to get updates on case progress. For a straightforward matter, this might be fine, but given the stress of the situation, more proactive communication would have been appreciated. She is clearly a knowledgeable attorney, especially for someone with her level of experience, but managing client expectations on the process side could be improved. I would describe her work as competent and effective, but the service aspect felt just adequate.
