Lester J. Friedman, Attorney At LawLester J. Friedman was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1973. After graduating from Southwestern School of Law in 1976, he began his legal career by representing injured applicants in both civil litigation and under the workers’ compensation system. In 1976, Lester became a partner at the law firm Olan & Friedman and practiced law there for almost 10 years. In 1986, he founded the Law Offices of Lester Friedman, with an exclusive focus on representing injured workers within the California workers’ compensation system.Throughout Lester’s career, he has been involved in many legal organizations that have helped him craft and refine his expertise. He is a Certified Specialist through The State Bar of California in Workers’ Compensation law and has been on the California State Bar Board of Legal Specialization. He has also been actively involved in the California Applicants’ Attorneys Association (CAAA), which is the statewide organization of attorneys who represent injured workers. He has served on its board of directors since 1990 and has been its Management Chair since 1998. He was appointed a Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board Judge Protem in 1984 and was appointed a Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board arbitrator in 1990. He has been selected for the inclusion in Super lawyers list since 2005 and as a Best Lawyer since 2009 by those nationally recognized publications.Lester is also involved in local politics and served as a member of the Traffic and Parking Commission for the City of Beverly Hills from 2011 to 2017. He was elected to the Beverly Hills City Council in 2017 and currently serves as a Council member. He is also a Director of the Beverly Hills Parking Authority and the Beverly Hills Charitable Foundation.Lester J. Friedman is an avid UCLA Athletics fan and has been the official scorer for the UCLA men’s basketball team since 1996 and for the Pac-12 Tournament. He has also served as the scorer for the NCAA Basketball Tournament. He is married and has four children and five grandchildren.
