Competent appellate work, but communication could improve

John Morris handled my civil appeal after a disappointing trial outcome. His credentials from the University of Virginia and his recognition as a Super Lawyer in appellate practice were reassuring. He clearly knows the procedural intricacies, and his written brief was thorough. However, the process felt somewhat distant. Updates were infrequent unless I initiated contact, and there were longer-than-expected wait times for responses to emails. While the legal work was solid and he achieved a reasonable remand, managing client expectations and maintaining a more consistent dialogue would elevate the experience. He is undoubtedly knowledgeable, but the service aspect felt just adequate.
