I hired John Parsons to assist with a dispute over the administration of my late father's trust, which involved a sibling and some ambiguous property division clauses. John's knowledge of trusts and estates was evident from our initial consultation. He was able to quickly parse the complex language of the trust document and outline a clear, pragmatic strategy. His background in commercial and construction litigation seemed to give him a sharp eye for contractual details, which was directly applicable. The matter was resolved through mediation, largely due to the strong position he helped us build. However, the experience was not without its frustrations. Communication was sometimes slower than I would have liked; there were periods of a week or more with no updates unless I initiated contact. While his legal work was solid, the process felt somewhat transactional. For straightforward legal needs, particularly given his recognition in tax-related matters which touched our case, John is a capable attorney. Just be prepared to manage your own expectations regarding client communication and the pace of the process. He got the job done competently, but the overall experience was just adequate.
