Knowledgeable but communication could be more consistent

I engaged Jacqueline Charlesworth at Frankfurt Kurnit to assist with a copyright clearance issue for a documentary film project. Her credentials are impressive, and her recognition in both copyright and entertainment law, particularly music, was a primary reason for my selection. She clearly knows the legal landscape inside and out. The strategy she developed for navigating the complex chain of title for several archival music recordings was sound and ultimately successful. However, the experience felt somewhat transactional. While her written analysis was thorough, there were periods where responses to emails took longer than expected, leaving me to manage project timelines with some uncertainty. For straightforward, high-stakes legal work, her Yale-honed expertise is evident, and I have no doubt about her technical competence. Yet, for clients who value frequent touchpoints and proactive updates as part of the service, the communication rhythm might feel lacking. She is undoubtedly a skilled attorney in her field, but the overall client service experience was merely adequate for the premium rate.
