Competent on securities matter, but communication could improve

I engaged Gregory Boden at Gibson Dunn to assist with a complex shareholder dispute that had potential securities litigation implications. His recognition in Litigation - Securities was a key factor in our selection, and his technical analysis of the regulatory landscape was precise and thorough. He clearly understood the nuances of the case. However, my experience was a mixed bag. While the legal work product was solid, I often found the communication timeline to be slower than expected. Responses to emails would sometimes take several days, and updates were not as proactive as I would have preferred from a firm of this caliber. For a junior attorney with his specific accolades, I anticipated a slightly more accessible partnership. That said, when we did connect, his advice from his Pepperdine training was sound and he was personally engaged in the details. He is undoubtedly knowledgeable in his field, but the client service aspect felt more transactional. He resolved the immediate issue competently, but the overall experience was just adequate, not exceptional.
