Competent commercial litigation attorney, but communication was inconsistent

I retained Fanxi Wang at Bird, Marella for a breach of contract dispute. Her background from UC Berkeley and recognition in commercial litigation were clear assets; she is undoubtedly knowledgeable and her analysis of the case was sharp. However, the experience was mixed. While the legal strategy was sound, there were periods where responses to emails took longer than expected, and updates on case progress weren't as proactive as I would have liked. For straightforward legal matters, her 13 years of experience in Los Angeles are a solid foundation. My expectations for communication and client management, however, were only partially met.
