When our family faced a daunting SEC investigation with potential criminal exposure, we turned to Dan Barton. His 37 years of experience in the mid-peninsula, particularly in white-collar defense, were immediately evident. He possesses a rare combination of sharp legal acumen, honed at Stanford, and a calm, strategic demeanor that was invaluable during a stressful time. His deep understanding of both the procedural landscape and the substantive financial issues allowed him to craft a defense that ultimately led to a favorable settlement, avoiding indictment. It's no surprise to see his multiple 'Lawyer of the Year' recognitions from San Jose. While his expertise is worth the investment, the billing structure and occasional delays in email responses from his team could be more streamlined. That said, when you are in the room with him—whether with prosecutors or in court—you have absolute confidence. For serious criminal or regulatory matters in Silicon Valley, Dan is a top-tier choice.
