I hired Constance H. Connie Baker of CH Baker Law to assist with a complex boundary dispute that arose during a property line adjustment for a small addition to my home. With her 28 years of general practice experience in Baltimore, I felt confident she had the breadth of knowledge to handle the intersecting property and local ordinance issues. Her assessment of the case was sharp, and she correctly identified the relevant precedents, which moved the negotiation forward. However, the experience was mixed. While her legal advice was sound, there were significant delays in receiving responses to emails, sometimes over a week, which added to my stress during an already tense situation. Updates were not proactive; I often had to follow up for basic status reports. For straightforward legal matters, her deep local experience is a clear asset, and the outcome of my case was ultimately satisfactory. Yet, for clients who prioritize consistent communication and clear timelines, the process can feel more arduous than necessary. She is undoubtedly a capable attorney, but the client service aspect didn't quite match the legal expertise.
