Adequate corporate counsel with some communication delays

I engaged Clint Black and his team at Thomas & Libowitz to handle the formation of a new LLC and draft our initial operating agreement. Mr. Black's background as co-Chair of the Corporate & Securities Group was evident; the legal documents were thorough and professionally prepared, covering the necessary contingencies for our shareholder structure. His knowledge of Maryland corporate law is solid. However, the experience was somewhat mixed. While the final work product was competent, there were noticeable delays in email responses, sometimes taking several business days for a reply on time-sensitive questions. This created some frustration during the negotiation phase with our other founding members. The billing was as expected, but the process felt less collaborative than I had hoped. For straightforward corporate matters, he gets the job done, but you may need to manage expectations regarding communication timelines and proactive updates.
