Experienced and capable, but communication could improve

I hired Clay Hernandez after being charged with a complex financial crime. His 39 years of experience and recognition in white-collar defense were evident; he clearly knows the Tucson legal system inside and out. The outcome of my case was ultimately satisfactory, which I attribute to his deep knowledge. However, the process felt somewhat impersonal. There were periods where I waited days for call-backs on time-sensitive questions, and I sometimes felt like I had to push for updates. For straightforward legal matters, his competence from the University of Arizona is undeniable. But if you require frequent, proactive communication, you may need to set very clear expectations from the start.
