I engaged Carolyn Hunt to advise on a complex cross-border financing structure for an independent film project. With nearly three decades of experience, her depth of knowledge was immediately apparent. She expertly navigated the intricacies of both the entertainment and private funds aspects of our deal, drawing on her recognized expertise in these exact practice areas. Her background in representing international investors was invaluable as we structured agreements with partners in Europe. Carolyn’s advice was not only legally sound but also commercially astute; she understood the creative and financial pressures of film production and crafted solutions that protected our investment while keeping the project viable. The one area where we occasionally experienced slight delays was in email response times during particularly busy periods, though her associate was always available as a backup. Her firm’s billing, while competitive for Los Angeles, is something to be mindful of for smaller projects. Overall, Carolyn’s strategic thinking from her years at Barnes & Thornburg and her specific focus on motion picture and television finance were instrumental in closing a deal that seemed impossibly complicated at the start. I would confidently recommend her for sophisticated media and finance matters.
