Caitlin M. Jones is a trial attorney focusing on business litigation, professional liability, and ethics. She has tried more than a dozen jury trials and over thirty bench trials to verdict.
For business clients, Caitlin is adept at resolving a wide array of issues through every stage of litigation. Caitlin has represented corporate clients in such diverse matters as trade secrets litigation, breach of contract, fraud, partnership disputes, counterfeit and trademark infringement, injury to business reputation, and more. Caitlin also has an extensive professional liability practice representing lawyers, insurance brokers, and other professionals against claims of malpractice.
For each client, Caitlin builds a unique strategy and litigation plan designed to resolve the case in alignment with the client’s goals.Caitlin obtained her Juris Doctor degree from George Washington University Law School. While in law school, Caitlin won the pro bono service award and served as an intern and law clerk at both the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia and the Department of Justice. At GWU Law School, Caitlin was the first recipient of the Howard J.
Rudge Creative Solutions Prize for her paper proposing a nationwide apprenticeship program coupled with targeted tax incentives as a solution to high unemployment rates and the concurrent strain on federal entitlement programs.Upon graduating, Caitlin gained substantial trial experience as an Assistant State Attorney in Miami, Florida. As a Miami-Dade ASA, Caitlin worked in the County Court and Juvenile divisions, handling a large case load of misdemeanor and felony criminal cases. Prior to joining Pettit Kohn, Caitlin worked as an associate at a boutique litigation firm in Miami specializing in complex business litigation.
