Competent but communication could be more consistent

I hired Yomara Garcia Viera to assist with a property dispute that had an environmental angle, concerning potential soil contamination from a neighboring business. Her recognition in environmental law was a key factor in my decision. Yomara demonstrated a solid grasp of the relevant statutes and provided clear, practical advice on the initial steps. She was competent in drafting the necessary correspondence and explaining our legal position. However, the experience felt somewhat uneven. While she was knowledgeable, there were periods of several days where I received no updates, requiring me to follow up. The timeline for resolving preliminary matters also stretched longer than initially suggested. For straightforward aspects of my case, her two years of general practice experience served adequately, but I sometimes felt the strategy lacked the proactive depth I expected. She is clearly intelligent and built a decent foundation, but the overall management and communication fell short of being exceptional. She completed the work we agreed upon, but the process required more prompting from my end than I would have preferred.
