Our company engaged Wood Lay at Moore & Van Allen to handle a sensitive situation involving a departing executive and a potentially problematic non-compete agreement. With over three decades of experience, particularly in employment and labor law management, his depth of knowledge was immediately apparent. He didn't just review the contract; he provided a comprehensive strategy that considered North Carolina law, potential ERISA implications for benefits, and the broader business relationship. His recognition in legal directories for employment and labor law management is well-deserved, as his advice was both legally sound and pragmatically focused on protecting our interests without unnecessary escalation. The matter was resolved favorably, avoiding litigation entirely. While his expertise is top-tier, there were occasional delays in receiving draft documents, which required a gentle follow-up. That said, his strategic guidance was invaluable. For any Charlotte-area employer facing complex workforce legal issues, Wood Lay is an excellent choice who brings the full weight of his Washington and Lee education and extensive practice to bear for his clients.
