Competent construction litigation attorney, but communication was inconsistent

I hired William Baggett to represent my small commercial contracting firm in a dispute over payment and project delays with a developer. His background in construction law from Vanderbilt and his recognition by Best Lawyers were certainly factors in our selection. During the litigation, his knowledge of Georgia construction law was evident, and he was effective in navigating the procedural aspects of the case, which ultimately led to a settlement. However, the experience was not without its frustrations. While Mr. Baggett was thorough in his legal analysis, there were periods where communication lagged significantly. Responses to emails could take several days, and it was sometimes difficult to get a clear timeline for next steps without multiple follow-ups. His expertise in the courtroom or in drafting motions was solid, but managing client expectations and maintaining a steady flow of information felt like an area that could be improved. For a straightforward construction dispute, he gets the job done competently, but be prepared to be proactive in staying updated on your case.
