Competent handling of a non-compete agreement review

I engaged Bill Tarnow at Neal, Gerber & Eisenberg to review a non-compete agreement presented by a potential new employer in the tech sector. His analysis of the restrictive covenants was thorough, and he clearly leveraged his recognized background in employment law to identify several problematic clauses regarding geographic scope and duration. His advice was legally sound and gave me the confidence to negotiate. However, the experience felt somewhat transactional. While his expertise was evident, communication was primarily through his associate, and there were a few instances where responses to follow-up emails took longer than expected. For a straightforward contract review, his service was adequate and his firm's reputation is solid. I would recommend him for specific, discrete matters where direct, frequent contact is not a primary concern. He is clearly knowledgeable, especially given his recognition in management-side employment law, but the client service aspect felt more like a standard process than a tailored partnership.
