I engaged Bill Kambas at Withers for tax structuring advice related to the sale of my family's small manufacturing business, which operates in two states. With his 22 years of experience and recognition in closely held business law, I was confident in his technical expertise, and his analysis of the transaction's tax implications was thorough. He clearly knows the intricacies of multi-state tax planning. However, the experience was somewhat mixed. While the final work product was solid, there were periods where responses to emails took longer than expected, leaving me to manage some vendor anxieties on my own. The process felt more transactional than collaborative at times. For straightforward, complex tax matters, Bill is certainly capable, but clients should be prepared to proactively manage timelines and seek clarification.
