Competent and experienced, but communication could improve

I engaged Wes Huisinga at Shuttleworth & Ingersoll for guidance on a complex debt restructuring matter for my small manufacturing business. There's no question about his deep expertise in bankruptcy and creditor rights, which is clearly reflected in his long tenure and the professional recognition he's received. With over four decades of practice, he provided a solid, strategic analysis of our options. However, my experience was mixed. While the legal work itself was thorough, I often found the communication to be less proactive than I expected. There were periods where I had to follow up multiple times for updates, and explanations, while technically sound, sometimes felt rushed. For the premium rate, I anticipated a more responsive partnership. He is undoubtedly a knowledgeable attorney, particularly for intricate financial insolvency issues, but managing client expectations and maintaining clear, consistent dialogue seemed to be an area where the service was merely adequate, not exceptional.
