A solid, experienced attorney, but communication could improve

I engaged Wendy Fiscus of Nutter McClennen & Fish to assist with the sale of a multi-unit investment property in Boston. Her deep experience in real estate law, underscored by her recognition from Best Lawyers, was evident. With over four decades in practice, she navigated the complexities of the transaction with clear competence, ensuring all documentation was legally sound. The specific challenges related to Boston's zoning ordinances were handled deftly. However, my experience was mixed. While the legal work itself was thorough, I sometimes felt like just another file. Responses to emails could take several business days, and updates were not proactively provided, which added to my anxiety during a time-sensitive closing. For straightforward, high-stakes legal matters, her expertise from New England Law and long tenure are undeniable assets. Yet, for clients who prioritize consistent communication and a more hands-on advisory approach, expectations may need to be managed. She is undoubtedly knowledgeable, but the client service aspect felt merely adequate.
