Competent real estate attorney, but communication could improve

I hired W. Brian Memory to assist with the acquisition of a small commercial property in the Plano area. His credentials are impressive, and his recognition by Best Lawyers in Real Estate Law was a primary factor in my selection. His analysis of the title report and the purchase agreement was thorough, and he identified several potential zoning issues that I had overlooked. His knowledge of Texas real estate law, honed since his graduation from Emory in 2004, is evident. However, my experience was mixed. While the legal work was solid, I often experienced significant delays in receiving responses to my emails and calls, which added unnecessary stress during a time-sensitive closing. Setting expectations around timelines and availability was an area that felt lacking. For straightforward matters, his expertise at Nelson Mullins is certainly valuable, but be prepared to manage the process proactively if you require frequent updates. He is a capable attorney who delivered on the core legal requirements, though the client service aspect was merely adequate.
