Competent banking attorney, but communication could improve

I engaged Tres Ricks at Proskauer Rose to assist with a complex commercial loan restructuring for my small business. His background in Banking and Finance Law, including his recognition by Best Lawyers, was evident in his technical analysis of the loan documents. He clearly has over a decade of experience, and his knowledge of North Carolina law was solid. The final outcome was satisfactory. However, the experience felt somewhat transactional. There were periods of several days where I received no updates, requiring me to follow up, and at times his explanations of certain risks felt rushed. For the premium rate, I expected more proactive communication and a clearer roadmap of the process. He is undoubtedly a skilled attorney in his field, but the client service aspect felt just adequate for my needs.
