I engaged Mr. Threadgill and his team at Butler Snow to handle a complex non-compete and trade secret dispute for our mid-sized manufacturing company. There is no question about his deep expertise in employment law and restrictive covenant litigation, which is clearly reflected in his long-standing reputation and the professional recognition he has received. His strategic advice during our initial consultations was sound and grounded in his decades of experience representing management. Ultimately, the matter was resolved favorably, protecting our key business interests. However, the experience was not without its frustrations. While Mr. Threadgill himself is clearly the expert, we often found ourselves communicating primarily with junior associates. Updates were sometimes delayed, and responses to our non-urgent emails could take several days, which created some anxiety on our end given the high stakes. The legal work was technically proficient, but the client service aspect felt more transactional than collaborative. For straightforward, high-level strategy, his counsel is valuable. For clients who prioritize frequent, direct communication and hands-on partner involvement throughout the process, expectations may need to be managed. He is undoubtedly a skilled attorney, but the overall service delivery was just adequate for our needs.
