Competent but communication could be more consistent

I retained Mr. Conner at Holland & Knight for a commercial dispute involving a former business partner. His background in commercial litigation was evident, and his recognition by Best Lawyers in that area gave me confidence. He understood the complexities of our contract issues and provided solid legal strategy. However, the experience felt somewhat transactional. While his analysis was sharp, there were times when responses to my emails took longer than expected, and I occasionally felt I had to follow up to get updates on procedural steps. For straightforward legal matters, his expertise is clear, and he secured an acceptable settlement. Yet, for clients who prioritize frequent, proactive communication as part of the service, there may be a slight disconnect. He is undoubtedly knowledgeable, especially in the Jacksonville market, but the client management aspect felt just adequate.
