Competent on appellate brief, communication could improve

I engaged Thomas Bredar to assist with an appellate brief concerning a regulatory compliance matter. His legal analysis was sharp, and his background from Columbia Law and recognition in appellate practice were evident in the quality of the written work. The brief was well-researched and structured. However, the experience felt somewhat transactional. There were periods of several days without updates, requiring me to follow up for status. While the final product was solid, the process lacked the proactive communication I expected from a firm of this caliber. For straightforward appellate or government relations work, he is certainly capable, but manage expectations on client service.
