Competent on energy law, but communication could improve

I engaged Susanne Juliane Hofmann of GvW Graf von Westphalen for assistance with a cross-border renewable energy project contract, involving both our Milwaukee office and German partners. Her background in Berlin and recognition in Energy Law were clear assets; she provided technically sound advice on the regulatory frameworks. However, coordinating across time zones led to significant delays in receiving document drafts and responses to follow-up emails. While the final work product was thorough, the process felt less responsive than I had hoped. For straightforward, non-urgent matters in energy law, her expertise is evident. For clients needing frequent updates or quick turnarounds, setting very clear expectations on communication timelines from the outset would be advisable.
