Competent on construction contract, but communication was inconsistent

I engaged Stuart Rosen at Tannenbaum Helpern for a commercial construction contract review for a small retail build-out in Brooklyn. His background in Construction Law, including the recognition from Best Lawyers, was a primary factor in our selection. Stuart's analysis of the contract was thorough; he identified several problematic indemnity clauses and payment milestones that needed adjustment, which was exactly the expertise we were paying for. However, the experience was mixed. While the final work product was solid, there were periods of several days where we received no updates on his progress, despite follow-up emails. This created some anxiety as our project timeline was tight. When we did connect, his advice was clear and practical. For straightforward, document-heavy construction law matters, he clearly knows his field. My rating reflects competent legal work that met the core need, but the process itself felt somewhat disjointed. For clients who prioritize constant communication, setting very clear expectations upfront would be advisable.
