Competent attorney, but communication could be more consistent

I hired Steve Weston from Sinas Dramis to handle a car accident case after a rear-end collision on I-94 left me with significant back injuries. His deep expertise in Michigan personal injury law was evident from the start. He clearly understood the nuances of the case and his 15 years of experience, along with recognition like his 2019 Lawyer of the Year award in Kalamazoo, gave me confidence in his legal strategy. Ultimately, he secured a fair settlement. However, my experience was mixed on the service side. While Steve was thorough in our meetings, there were often long stretches—sometimes a week or more—without updates on case developments, despite my inquiries. His paralegal was responsive, but I expected more direct communication from the attorney himself, given the firm's reputation. The process also moved a bit slower than I had anticipated based on our initial timeline discussion. In summary, Steve Weston is a knowledgeable and capable personal injury litigator who gets results, but the client experience regarding responsiveness and managing expectations could be improved. He did a good job, but the service felt more transactional than personally attentive at times.
