Competent and experienced, but communication could improve

I hired Steven Pounian at Kreindler & Kreindler for a complex personal injury matter stemming from a multi-vehicle accident. His deep experience, spanning nearly two decades, was evident from the start. He clearly understood the nuances of my case, and his firm’s reputation in both plaintiff and defense-side personal injury work provided a strategic perspective I valued. The initial consultation was thorough, and his recognition by Best Lawyers in these fields gave me confidence. Ultimately, we reached a settlement I considered fair. However, the process itself had some frustrations. While his legal analysis was sharp, there were periods where communication lagged. Updates were sometimes delayed, and getting a prompt response to non-urgent emails could take several days. My expectations for a more proactive flow of information weren't fully met, given the firm's stature. For straightforward legal expertise, Steven is undoubtedly knowledgeable. For clients who prioritize constant, hands-on communication, be prepared to manage those expectations. He is a capable attorney who secured a good result, but the client experience felt more transactional than collaborative at times.
