Competent on employment matters, but communication was inconsistent

I hired Stephanie Weschler at Stikeman Elliott for guidance on a complex non-compete agreement dispute with my former employer in Jacksonville. Her background in Labour and Employment Law was evident; she understood the nuances of Florida statutes and her recognition in this field gave me initial confidence. The legal strategy she drafted was solid and addressed the core issues. However, the experience was mixed. While the work product was good, there were periods where responses to emails took several days, which added to my stress during negotiations. For straightforward legal analysis, she is capable, but the client service aspect and managing expectations around timelines could be improved. The matter was resolved adequately, but the process felt more transactional than collaborative at times.
