Competent estate planning, but communication could improve

I engaged Sheila Morris at Miller Thomson LLP to assist with updating my family's estate plan, including a revocable living trust and powers of attorney. As someone recognized in the Trusts and Estates field, her technical knowledge was evident. She correctly identified several gaps in our previous documents and provided solid, legally sound drafts. The work product itself was thorough. However, my experience was mixed on the service side. There were periods of several days where I received no response to follow-up emails, which created some anxiety during the process. While the final documents met our needs, the explanations sometimes felt rushed, and I occasionally left meetings with lingering questions. For a straightforward estate plan, she is certainly capable, and her three years of focused experience in this area showed. I just expected more proactive communication and clearer timelines from a firm of this caliber. The outcome was satisfactory, but the process felt more transactional than guided.
