Competent on expropriation, but communication could improve

I hired Shane Rayman to assist with a property matter where the city was proposing to acquire a portion of my land for a road expansion. His knowledge of expropriation law was evident, and he successfully negotiated a fair compensation package, which was our primary goal. His recognition in this specific field is well-deserved. However, the experience was not without its frustrations. There were often significant delays in receiving email replies, and I sometimes felt I had to follow up multiple times to get updates on the file's progress. While the legal outcome was satisfactory, the process felt less client-focused than I had hoped. For straightforward expropriation cases, he is certainly capable, but be prepared to manage your own expectations regarding responsiveness.
