Competent on corporate governance, but communication was inconsistent

I engaged Sean Griffiths at Gibson Dunn for guidance on a mid-market private equity transaction. His knowledge of leveraged buyout structures and corporate governance, areas where he is recognized, was evident and provided solid legal footing. He correctly navigated the complexities of the deal terms. However, for a 3-star rating, the experience was mixed. While the final work product was thorough, there were periods of delayed responsiveness that created some anxiety during negotiations. At this level, I expected more proactive updates. He is clearly a capable attorney with nearly a decade in this niche, but the client service aspect felt merely adequate compared to the firm's reputation.
