I engaged Scott Witthuhn at Cummings & Lockwood for the acquisition of a small commercial property in Stamford. His background in commercial real estate and the firm's strong reputation were key factors in my choice. Scott's knowledge of transactional details was evident, and his Yale and Fordham education certainly informs his methodical approach. The deal closed successfully. However, the experience was somewhat transactional. At times, there were noticeable delays in receiving responses to emails, and explanations of certain title complexities felt rushed. For a straightforward matter, he is a capable attorney, as his recognition in real estate law suggests, but I expected a more proactive communication style given his 13 years of experience.
