Competent on insurance claim, but communication was inconsistent

I engaged Scott Silver of Norton Rose Fulbright to handle a complex business interruption insurance claim after a significant property loss. His recognized expertise in Insurance Law was evident from the outset; he clearly understood the nuances of the policy language and the procedural hurdles. The legal strategy he developed was sound, and we ultimately reached a settlement. However, my experience was mixed. While Scott is undoubtedly knowledgeable, there were periods where communication lagged significantly. Updates were sometimes sparse, and responses to emails could take several days, which added to our stress during an already difficult time. His national reputation in insurance and commercial litigation is well-deserved based on the technical work, but the client service aspect felt merely adequate. For straightforward legal matters, his competence is reliable, but if you require frequent touchpoints and proactive updates, you may need to set very clear expectations from the beginning.
