Competent on construction contract review, but communication was inconsistent

I hired Scott Price at Pallett Valo to review a commercial construction contract for a small warehouse renovation project in San Antonio. My situation required someone with a solid grasp of construction law, and Scott’s recognized expertise in that area was a primary reason for my selection. Over his few years in practice, he has clearly developed a good technical understanding of contract clauses, liability issues, and local regulations. He identified several potential pitfalls in the agreement I provided, and his written analysis was thorough and helpful. However, the experience was somewhat mixed. While the final work product was sound, there were noticeable delays in receiving updates. I often had to follow up multiple times for status checks, which added unnecessary stress to the timeline. My expectations for proactive communication weren't fully met. For straightforward legal review where you are not under a tight deadline, Scott’s knowledge in construction and real estate law is adequate and he will get the job done. For matters requiring more frequent client liaison or rapid turnaround, you might want to set very clear expectations upfront. He is a competent attorney, but the overall service experience could be more polished.
