Skilled in biotech IP, but communication could improve

We engaged Scott Bornstein at Greenberg Traurig for a complex patent licensing dispute within our biotech startup. His deep knowledge of biotechnology and life sciences law was immediately apparent, and his nearly three decades of experience, particularly in litigation and intellectual property, provided a solid foundation. The recognition he's received in these fields is well-earned. However, our experience was mixed. While the legal strategy was sound, we often experienced significant delays in receiving updates and found his communication to be somewhat reactive rather than proactive. For straightforward legal questions, responses were prompt, but during critical phases, we felt we had to follow up repeatedly. He is undoubtedly a competent attorney who knows this niche area inside and out, but the client service aspect didn't quite match the high level of his technical expertise.
